Okay, so here's a mini-post.....

I decided to just do a quick post. I used Serene, Iced Violets, and Lace all from BFTE of course. I desperately need a real camera and not just my stinking phone, but it's the best I can do for right now.

My apologies about the hiatus.....

I just really have been going through somethings around here lately and I've lost a lot of drive to do much of anything. I received my new order from BFTE and I need to swatch them for everyone, so I hope to do that within the next day or two. Thanks for being patient with me!

The Egyptians REALLY worshipped Ra?!?

Yeah, I'm crazy sunburned right now. I spent the day with my little sister, Mary, my daughter Gabby, and her friend Gillian. I slathered myself in waterproof/sweatproof SPF 50 but to no avail. I am baked more than a ham at Christmas (minus the Coke and brown sugar)! The sun made me so ill today that I think I only went to the bathroom twice and I was drinking all day! By the time we left the water park, I was D-O-N-E. I didn't ride half of what I wanted to because I was feeling so sick. What finally did me in was a water slide that is pretty much pitch black with the exception of holes that make faces in the plastic siding. You couldn't see where you were going and I was literally in panic attack mode. I still shudder thinking about it! Claustrophobia and anxiety attack for the "win"! Needless to say, I am not in the mood to do a makeup look today. I'm about ready to crash out. I will try to do better next week. In the meantime, I need some ideas. Color suggestions would be nice :-)

Lighter Shade of Rainbows....

So sorry for the delay, people! Life has interjected and made me it's bitch :-/ I did a paler, more pastel version of the rainbow eye for Easter. I really liked it too. I used Aloha, Peachy, Spirit, Lucky Me, Aqua, and Iced Violets by BFTE. I need to come up with something obnoxiously bright and summery soon!

I created a business card.....

UPDATED VERSION:

My oh-so-thoughtful "friend" Larry told me that I couldn't legally call myself a cosmetologist without a license, I had to redesign my business card. I am so livid at that man. He actually just HAD to go looking for the information to prove he was right. His response was, ""Apparently I'm correct, indiana law says that a cosmetologist is defined as someone licensed as such. Just saying...the fines are pretty stiff to operate illegally. Alternatively to call yourself a make-up artist is separate. I think the main reason is that a cosmetologist also performs other non-makeup procedures."

So I won't get thrown in the slammer for doing a bride's makeup illegally, I changed things around. I need opinions, please. I haven't ordered these yet, just worked on them. I can remove my photo or whatever. Just need some advice.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow....

For those that know me, you know that I love doing the whole rainbow eye look. It's bold, it's bright, some love it, some hate it, but it always puts me in a better mood. I've gotten stopped by MAC employees saying how much they love it. I've gotten stopped by SO many people and it's just so damn fun to do! I used to do it even when I worked in the blue and khaki drab world of Wal-Mart. Mom totally thought I shouldn't do it when at work but it made me feel bright & cheery even when I was bummed out. I just enjoy doing it. Tomorrow, I will post the pastel version of the eye. Everything I used, I used out of the Rockin' Rainbow Collection from BFTE found here: http://bftecosmetics.com/collections/boxed-collections/rockin-rainbow

Something a wee bit tropical....

I didn't actually wear makeup today! I totally vegged out all day and it was fabulous. I like doing this particular look. It's Blueberry, Green Apple, and Grape (all from BFTE) and it's totally bright! Keeping this brief for tonight. I will try to do something later in the day :-)

No longer a hair dye virgin....

My sister did my makeup and Mom did my 40's hair

Oh, just so you know, the girl sitting opposite me is who won. The ones in pink were royal bitches, let me tell you!

I first dyed my hair when I was 16 to do a Marilyn Monroe look-a-like contest but I decided to be unique and go as Norma Jeane (pre-Blonde Bombshell and plastic surgery Marilyn). I almost had it in the bag until another chick did the same thing and because she SOUNDED like her, she won. It was so insulting!

In 2008, I decided to try out blonde. I was aiming for the Jennifer Aniston sandy blonde with highlights. Needless to say, it's not how it turned out.

Over the years, I've gone bright, bright red, the blonde up there, now currently black, but not blue black. That just would NOT work for me. I'm planning on going a shade or two higher, back to about my original color and then just letting it go. I'm 32 and don't want to be bald in 10 years. My hair has noticeably thinned out over the years but I want this again:

When I was 16.....

I look like a Sweeney Sister!

Sailor jacket? Check. Missing the sailors though!

...I did GlamourShots like everyone else did. Mine could have been a LOT worse. I didn't opt for the feather boa or the cowboy hat (thank God!). How much have I changed? I don't think a great deal but that IS my original hair color so I still had virgin hair LOL

I need some ideas....

I haven't really done anything truly "out there" with my eyeshadow and I want to do something totally outrageous (why yes, I HAVE been watching "Jem". Why do you ask? :-p) at least once. I need some crazy color ideas. Any volunteers?

Above, I used Raspberry, Lemon, and Grape from BFTE with the UD liner. On a side note, I just ran out of my UD Primer Potion. It was a regular size bottle that lasted me from November to July. Pretty impressive, no?

Here Comes The Bride....

Pardon the bad angle of me :-p

One other thing was that I did the makeup for my "sister", Mary, her mother, Carol, the other Maid of Honor, Amy, and another bridesmaid, Angela, as well as myself. I don't have a lot of really good photos of her face, but she's not a girly girl. She requested I use silver and purple since those were her wedding colors.

I used BFTE's Silver for the all over lid, Aphrodite in the crease, and Diamonds for a highlight. I used the Ivory foundation and Goddess for the blush.

I'm having an off day.....

It's been a lovely (note the sarcasm) day for me. I really didn't feel like taking a photo of my look for today so I'm going to post what I think is a good look for a job interview. It's subtle but yet still sort of shimmery. I see all kinds of people come into where I work wearing things that never should see the light of day or colors that shouldn't be worn outside a discotheque.

Above, I used Honey on the lid, Celtic Charms in the crease, and Canyon on the brow bone (all by BFTE). You don't necessarily need the liner but it would take you into the nighttime hours should you take it with you. I would just finish off with nice mascara and a subtle blush. I believe I used Hard Candy's Baked blush for this. Color was/is Bombshell I believe.

My Introductory Post....

I've been pondering starting this blog for months, inspired by some wonderful, beautiful women, but am finally doing it. I know the blog name is long and it might change eventually but for now, I like it. I will most likely be enrolling in cosmetology school within the next few months but until such time that that happens, I am going to have fun with different looks. If there are suggestions for colors that I should use or something that someone would like to see a look of, please by all means speak up! I typically use Beauty from the Earth eyeshadow, unless otherwise stated.

The look above was created using BFTE's Addicted, Way Up High, and Blueberry with Urban Decay's liquid liner in Perversion with BeneFit's They're Real mascara. I also used BFTE's blush in Georgia Peach and a mix of the Ivory and Alabaster foundation shades. I used BFTE's Oxford mineral shadow with a clear lipgloss for my lips.
